HAPPY SNOW DAY! Like the rest of north eastern US, I am stuck inside today for a state of emergency nor'easter. Trying to be productive (but avoiding cleaning my room) I decided to get a jump start on some Easter baking. I came across these cute spring flower treats.

I N G R E D I E N T S

- Square pretzels

- Chocolate chips (I used dark chocolate and white chocolate, but feel free to use any flavor you want)

- Spring colored M&M's

S T E P S

1. Separate whole pretzels from broken pieces and sort your M&M's by color. This will make it easier to grab the colors your need.

2. On a paper plate, space out 5-12 whole pretzels. On each of the pretzels, cover with the chocolate chips. My dark chocolate chips were a little larger then the white chips. On each pretzel I could fit 4 dark chocolate chips or 6 white chocolate chips. Just make sure most of the pretzel is covered with chocolate, this will work as the "glue" to hold the flower in place!

3. Carefully place the paper plate in the microwave. Microwave the chips for 20 seconds then 30 seconds. The chips should be soft but not completely melted. Also, be sure you don't burn your chocolate, this is why you should microwave your chocolate in segments of 15-30 seconds and not all at once.

4. I then transferred the pretzels with melted chocolate onto a cooling rack. The easiest way I found was to cut 1/2 the rim off of the paper plate. This allowed me to slide the pretzels onto the rack with the back of a spoon without getting the melted chocolate all over my hands!

5. Place one color M&M in the center and 6 other colored M&M's round the center.

Be careful you don't stick your fingers in the melted chocolate!!

6. Let the pretzels cool, or place the cooling rack in the refrigerator for a few minutes, until the chocolate is mostly hard.

7. To store these flower treats, place a single layer of treats in a tupperwear then a layer of parchment paper. Repeat this until all of your flowers are in the tupperwear. Parchment paper is fantastic for messy projects like this. The flowers won't stick to the parchment paper and can finish hardening in the tupperwear

T A D A !

This fun and easy Easter treat is great for all ages. If you are working with kids, have them help you place the M&M's on the melted chocolate. I personally had a really fun time doing this with my mom during the snow day. It kept us busy while still checking things off the list for Easter!

I hope everyone is staying warm and safe during this crazy winter storm!
