I recently had a really hard decision to make. My old car was breaking and the bills were adding up quickly. I owned a 2008 Blue Kia Spectra. The car was my sisters from when she was in college. She passed it down to me about 2 years ago and it was just warn out. I knew the car would start needing work but I thought I would be able to get the winter out of it. Having recently graduated college, and dreading paying student loans in a few short months, I was not sure if I was ready for this commitment.
After a week of in and out of the car repair shop, and already spending more then I anticipated, I got the news that my car still needed a lot more work. I knew it was time.
My uncle works for a car dealership so I quickly called him for help. He had just got in a 2016 Jeep Patriot and knew it would be perfect for me. The car only had 7,000 miles on it and it was in brand new condition. That night I went to test drive it and from the minute I got in to the car I knew it. This was MY car.

My situation is different then most, I can understand that. Everything, for once in my life, fell perfectly into place for me. For others who are looking to buy a new car, it is a huge responsibility. This is my first ever bill that I will have and it is the first large investment that is 100% mine. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Before making my final decision, I asked my parents, boyfriend and sisters for their advice. Getting different perspectives is helpful. Also, one person may think of something that the others have not.
After this adventure, I am pleased to say that I have never been happier! Emmett is my baby and I am so glad I had this growing moment in my life.
