I stumbled upon this article (Here) a few days ago and it got me thinking... why do I want to share my "adulting" stories and advice?
Adulting isn't just Millennials complaining about doing real life things, it's about growing and maturing. This author makes a very reasonable point when they state "I'm not going to look capable of any of those things if I act like going to the grocery store alone is my biggest accomplishment yet." But its not about those minuet tasks being our biggest accomplishments, but them being small accomplishments that are leading us to the bigger ones.
Without the experience of going grocery shopping alone, we wouldn't have the courage to travel alone. Without learning how to work a vacuum we couldn't learn how to work other house hold appliance when we live alone. Without cooking learning how to cook an actual meal you would never know how to feed your future family.
The action of "adulting" has nothing to do with praise or attention, it is simply about proving to yourself that your going to be OK. You can shop alone, you can work a vacuum and you can make yourself a 3 course meal.
