Sleep vs Socialization

Since graduating, one of the things I am having a hard time getting accustomed to is knowing when to sleep and when to socialize. I'm known for being a "20 year old grandma". I almost always choose staying in and watching Netflix over partying. Now that I don't have as easy of access to my friends as I did at college, I have to choose socializing over sleep!

Recently I booked my schedule solid for a week, from the minute I woke up to the minute I went to sleep. Working until 6pm every day, and making time for friends every evening. I realized that by Wednesday night, I was drained. I needed to just relax. I cancelled my plans Thursday evening and took the time for myself. I got a glass of wine, cleaned my room, laid in bed, caught up on reading, blogged and watched a movie (Moana FINALLY). I found that when I woke up on Friday, I was refreshed and ready for a busy weekend.
From this experience, I found that making time for yourself doesn't make you a loser, or lame or, in my case a grandma. It is OK to take an evening to yourself. Lay in bed and binge watch that TV show you so desperately need to catch up on. Dust off your favorite book. Put on a face mask and take a bath. Treating yourself to a much need break is going to keep you refreshed and ready for the next adventure.
